It is th e responsi bility of the Projec t Manager to ensure the proces ses are fo llowed wit hin the pr oduct buil d process i.e., ProP ath, Produ ct Build: BLD-1 Deve lop Produc t Componen t). The ex pectation is that th e VDD is c ontrolled just as a source fil e with hav ing one VD D per Prod uct that h as many ve rsions bei ng managed within th e Software Configura tion Manag ement (SCM ) reposito ry followi ng baselin e processe s. The IT Configurat ion Manage rs (or IT Architect/ Developmen t Lead) en sure that creation a nd modific ation of t he Product s VDD is i ntegrated with any p arallel ac tivities b eing perfo rmed on th e said pro duct. The Configurat ion Manage r creates/ updates th e VDD each time the deliverabl e (file se t) leaves the develo pment envi ronment, s uch as for testing o r deployme nt. The VD D is the r epresentat ion and re sult of th e Software Configura tion Manag ement Proc edures bei ng followe d. The Pro duct Proce dures alon g with wor k instruct ion are to be create d and main tained by the IT Con figuration Managers (or IT Arc hitect/Dev elopment L ead). For product p rocedure i nformation , refer to the Softw are Config uration Ma nagement P rocedures Template ( i.e., ProP ath, Proje ct Plannin g: PRP 3.7 ). The Pro ject Manag er is resp onsible fo r ensuring the Confi guration M anager mai ntains ver sions of t he VDD and deliverab les (files ) in the T RM- approv ed configu ration man agement sy stem.
