  19    prompt in  the Appoi ntment Man agement [A PPOINTMENT  MANAGEMEN T SDAM APP T  MGT] an d Admittin g Area Cha rt Request  [RT MAS-A DMIT-CHART -REQUEST]   options i n the Reco rd Trackin g package  from "YES"  to "NO."  This promp t is  used  to determ ine whethe r hard cop y appointm ent record  requests  are  print ed to a fi le room pr inter. The  printing  is deemed  unnecessar y at  many  sites and  leads to  wasted pap er. Prior  to CPRS im plementati on, hard   copy recor ds were ne cessary fo r appointm ents. The  use of CPR S removes  the  need  to print a  hard copy  for the v ast majori ty of appo intments,  thus  maki ng "NO" th e logical  default.
