The capabi lity for p harmacy pe rsonnel to receive a controlle d substanc e order au tomaticall y, updatin g the quan tity on ha nd and rec eipt histo ry is also provided. Nursing p ersonnel a re provide d with the capabilit y to reque st orders for contro lled subst ances via on-demand requests. Pharmacy m ay dispens e controll ed substan ces via th e software automatin g all nece ssary docu ments (VA FORMs 10-2 321 and 10 -2638) to complete a n order re quest. The software provides f unctionali ty to addr ess return s to stock , destruct ions, and transfers between lo cations; l og outpati ent prescr iptions an d order ca ncellation s; report Automated Management Informati on System (AMIS) and cost data ; and main tain perpe tual inven tory balan ces.
