Subject: MEDICATION PERMISSIONS/DISPENSING UPDATES

Category: ROUTINE

Description:
===========

The Clinical Ancillary Services (CAS) project is releasing enhancements
to the controlled substances package in support of the Medication
Permissions and Dispensing Updates portion of the CAS project.
Modification have been made to the Digitally Signed CS Orders Report [PSD
DIGITALLY SIGNED ORDERS] to now include the Electronic Claims Management
Engine (ECME) number. Additionally, the DEA DATA - Waived Practitioner
Report [PSD DEA SUBOXONE] has been modified to correct the patient count
in the summary view of the report. Previously, the summary view was
counting the number of prescriptions, rather than the number of patients.
New logic has been added to properly count the number of patients.

Item #1:
--------
As a pharmacist managing controlled substance prescriptions that are
billed to third-party insurance, I need the report Digitally Signed
Controlled Substance Orders Report (PSD DIGITALLY SIGNED ORDERS) to
include the Electronic Claims Management Engine number (ECME) (when
present) in addition to the already-present prescription number, so that
I can demonstrate to insurance auditors that VA Electronic Prescriptions
for Controlled Substances (EPCS) prescriptions are DEA-compliant and
contain the patient address information on them.

Resolution:
-----------
Routine PSDDSOR1 has been modified to include the ECME number in the
report details.

Item #2:
--------
As a provider, I need to generate a report of my patients that counts the
unique patients to whom I have prescribed Suboxone, so that I can comply
with the requirements of the DATA 2000 Act.

Resolution:
-----------
Routine PSDSUBOX has been modified to now correctly count the patients
for display in the summary view of the report.
