eHealth Exchange is being developed to provide a secure, nationwide, interoperable health information infrastructure. Using a secure network known as the HealtheWay (eHealth Exchange), formerly known as Nationwide Health Information Network (NwHIN), eHealth Exchange connects with approved healthcare providers, consumers, and others involved in supporting Veterans. This project was launched by the DoD and VA Interagency Program Office (IPO) to support the VLER initiative, which in turn supports Presidential Executive Orders 13410-Promoting Quality and Efficient Health Care in Federal Government Administered or Sponsored Healthcare Programs.
