Subject: INCREASE SELECTION FROM AUTO INSTRUMENT FILE TO 999

Category:
  - Routine

Description:
============

The NSR20140713 Increase Selection From Auto Instrument File to 999
intake modification allows entry selection of up to 999 instruments
in the Auto Instrument File (#62.4). The current VistA code allows
for no more than 99 instruments to be selected from the Auto
 Instrument File.

This modification will allow sites to maintain up to 999 instruments
in the Auto Instrument File and rotate them in and out of service
based on current contracts just so they can be selected. This
eliminates the need to delete an instrument from the file and then
set it up again with a number less than 99 in order to reactivate it.

This intake has been implemented locally at the Syracuse, New York
 VAMC.

This patch addresses the following requirement:

VHBAO: NEED502510 Manage Laboratory Specimens: As an
authorized user, I need to manage lab specimens
submitted for testing, so that the most accurate
results are available for the patient record.
