Each Vi stA instan ce needs a n open por t set up s pecificall y for Vist aLink in o rder to in itiate a V istaLink c onnection.

	6	This guide is for Ad min Portal users who manage Vi staLink co nnections in the MHA web appli cation. Th is is not intended f or patient s or clini cians usin g of MHA. When a new hospital (Vista Loc ation) com es online, a VistaLi nk instanc e must be created fo r that loc ation in o rder to in tegrate wi th MHA. We need to a dd these n ew VistaLi nk instanc es into th e MHA appl ication if we want t o be able to make Vi stA calls at that lo cation. Th e Admin Po rtal is a place wher e special users can manage the se MHA Vis ta connect ions. Each user must have the administra tor userna me and pas sword. The username and passwo rd are the same for every user .

	8	The admin portal is a subset o f MHA wher e authoriz ed adminis trators ca n manage V istaLink c onnections in the ap plication. It allows users to add, updat e, test an d delete V istaLink c onnections in an MHA environme nt.
	9	Please not e that whe n managing VistaLink connectio ns via the Admin Por tal, that these chan ges only a ffect the domain you are in. F or example , if you l og into th e Admin Po rtal in th e DEV envi ronment, t he changes made here will ONLY affect th e DEV envi ronment. Y ou must re peat the s teps for a ny other e nvironment s you wish to update .

	12	Open a new instance of Interne t Explorer (please u se IE).

	44	The connec tion name and JNDI f ields are fields you need to c ome up wit h on your own. Often times, th e connecti on name is the name of the VA Division t he connect ion is for . And the JNDI name is some un ique strin g with no spaces or number.
	45	For examp le, if we are connec tion to th e Seattle VA named “ VA Puget S ound” whic h is stati on 663 we would have the follo wing:

	48	Neither of these fie lds need t o be uniqu e, but it helps if t hey repres ent the co nnection d escription . The JNDI name does not accep t numbers or special character s.
	49	The statio n number f ield MUST be unique meaning no two Vista Link Conne ctions may have the same stati on number. The Admin Portal wi ll prevent you from adding a n ew connect ion to a p re-existin g connecti on with th e same sta tion numbe r. You mus t delete o r update t he existin g connecti on.
	50	Once you h ave entere d the fiel ds properl y, you nee d to test the connec tion by cl icking the green Tes t Connecti on button.

	66	Go to the Admin Port al home pa ge (at /ad min/portal ). Click t he Update button for the conne ction you wish to up date.

	68	The update screen sh ould appea r like pic tured belo w. It will have some fields pr e-populate d with the exception the acces s and veri fy fields. You must re-enter A ccess & Ve rify field s when upd ating a co nnection. You may no t update t he station number fi eld. You m ust delete the conne ction, and create a new one if you wish to alter t his field.

	74	You may wi sh to dele te an exis ting Vista Link conne ction. If you need t o do so, y ou can do this from the Home p age of the Admin Por tal.
	75	Please not e that whe n you dele te a conne ction, all users of MHA will n o longer b e able to run RPCs a gainst tha t location . You are taking thi s Vista in stance off line.
