HMP EV v3 is a modular, browser-based application with a user interface that supports traditional and mobile devices. With its multi-tiered architecture, HMP EV is a foundation for VA’s initiative to modernize its electronic health record (EHR). The initiative also seeks to expand health information technology (IT) tools and services; develop clinical functionality not currently available in Computerized Patient Record Service (CPRS); and support patient care, population health, research, and analytics.

HMP EV is a team-driven, clinical, user-interface. Application modules manage relationships between conditions, interventions, and observations. The modules also acquire data; include documentation as a byproduct of workflow; and ultimately support higher quality; team based patient care and clinician satisfaction.
