The CSS Conversion project is the transfiguration of VBA’s legacy CSS and adoption of VA’s enterprise Identity and Access Management (IAM) solution to remediate the risk of obsolesce and sustainability of this aging security solution. This also aligns VBA’s systems with the VA standard along with lowering costs by reducing redundancy in like functionality.

The legacy CSS is no longer in compliance with the VA’s security and identity standards and poses a risk to the entire VBA application library - including its newest systems like Veterans Benefits Management System (VBMS) - due to its obsolete infrastructure. This integration/conversion effort would coordinate the efforts of existing CSS, Benefit Gateway Services (BGS), and IAM developers primarily to elaborate and execute a conversion plan.
