The purpose of the VistA Fee-IPAC Interface is to enhance the VistA Fee application to be used to process payments for veterans' care provided by Department of Defense (DoD) Military Treatment Facilities (MTF) through the Department of the Treasury's Intra-governmental Payment and Collection (IPAC) system.
Use of IPAC meets accounting requirements for inter-fund transfers between governmental agencies. As sharing agreements between VA and DoD expand, more facilities are requiring payment through IPAC. VA facilities that use IPAC now bypass VistA Fee and cannot accurately account for non-VA care workload.
