The MOCHA Enh 2 product will provide additional functionality that could not be included in the initial MOCHA v1.0 released application from a backlog of requested functionality. This increment will introduce and integrate additional enhancements into the backdoor pharmacy packages (Inpatient Medications, Outpatient Pharmacy, and Pharmacy Data Management (PDM)). Specifically, the enhancements include: adding functionality to use Clinical Reminders-based order checks in pharmacy order entry; Order checks against a patient’s active medication profile - add order status to order check messages; Provide MOCHA v1.0 Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS) order checks on Inpatient Pharmacy (IP) Unit Dose Orders when editing the dosage. Additionally, enhancements will be added for allergy tracking to enable the Adverse Reaction Tracking package to return sign/symptom data with the medication order check message to CPRS and to update the API to return that same data from the Health Data Repository (HDR). An additional enhancement will enable CPRS to display the sign/symptom and the severity of an adverse reaction to a medication in its Allergy-Drug Interaction order check messages. It will also update the Remote Data Interoperability (RDI) component within CPRS to retrieve the sign/symptom, severity, and observed/historical data values from the HDR for adverse reactions. The enhancements will be developed in Massachusetts General Hospital Utility Multi-Programming System (MUMPS) and distributed as routine patches from the National Patch Module. The enhancements introduced will be made within one of the three National Packages that collectively comprise backdoor pharmacy and two additional National Packages.
