The ICD-10 program implements the VA's conversion to the ICD-10-CM clinical codes that will be required for use in VA and with VA business partners. This program will allow VA to recoup revenue from 3rd party billing activities, promptly reimburse vendors that provide FEE services, and exchange standardized diagnostic data with such parties as Health and Human Services, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS), the Center for Disease Control and all other public health organizations.

ICD-10 Changes for Lexicon, Encounter Forms and Clinical Reminders remediates and tests all ICD-dependent code so that encounters and treatments dated prior to 10-1-2014 are processed using the ICD-9 code sets and all encounters and treatments dated 10-1-2014 or later are processed using the ICD-10 code sets.
