Role-Based Access Overview

The level of access to the administrative data and functions within the Administration module varies depending on a user's job function and assigned role. Additionally, the level of access to the various functionality found in other modules of the application is controlled through the Administration module.

 

Before a user can begin using the application, an administrator must assign him/her a role. The application has the following predefined roles for an administrator to assign to a user.

  1. Application Administrator: Individual who is responsible for unlocking users who have locked themselves out of the application by entering their User Name / Password incorrectly three times.

  2. Care Coordinator: Registered Nurse (RN) who manages care across the health care continuum for a panel of Home Telehealth (HT) patients.

  3. DMP Administrator: Representatives from the Training Center who create the initial DMP, assigns subject matter experts (SME) to the DMP, and manage the content entered by the SMEs. The DMP Administrator will also manage the export of the DMP to a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet for e-mailing to the Vendors.

  4. DMP Contributor: SMEs who are registered and approved users of IHTA and who contribute content (e.g., questions, responses, educational content, etc.) to DMPs assigned to them in the application.

  5. Facility Administrator: Care Coordinator at a facility who has been assigned the additional duties of supervising the administration of the application for that facility.

  6. Management: Headquarters-level individual who uses IHTA reports and information to support HT Program activities.

  7. OTS Contract Manager: Contract Manager for the OTS HT Program.

  8. National Administrator: Individual in the OTS HT Program who is primarily responsible for the administration of the application.

  9. Program Support Assistant: Individual who is responsible for maintaining inventory of all HT equipment at the facility.

  10. QIR Originator: Individual responsible for submitting Quality Improvement Reports (QIR) in the application to document quality and patient safety issues related to HT devices.

  11. Vendor: One or more individuals who are the authorized representatives for a supplier of HT equipment.

  12. VISN Administrator: Care Coordinator at the Veterans Integrated Service Networks (VISN) level who has been assigned the additional duties of supervising the administration of the application for the VISN.
