HMP's collapsible Patient Selection pane resides on the left side of the application window. When you open the application, this pane displays the patients in your Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS) default patient list (which is often the most relevant list), automatically selecting the patient whose record you were viewing when you last closed the application—or, if you launched the application from CPRS and had a patient selected there, the plug-in automatically selects the patient whose record you were viewing in CPRS.
You can select a new patient from your CPRS default list or use the plug-in's Search field to find any patient in your site's local VistA account—whether or not the patient is on your default list. You can also select patients from selectable clinic and ward lists. This plug-in offers most of CPRS's methods for selecting patients and adds patient-safety features such as a Confirm button that helps prevent inadvertently selecting a new patient.
Like CPRS's patient-selection feature, HMP offers easy access to a variety of patient lists. Opening to your CPRS default list, which will often be the list that's most relevant to you, this plug-in also provides Clinic and Ward lists. Learn more
